Our Mission...

The National Guard Association of Washington was incorporated in 1891 as a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the welfare and interests of the National Guard. Today, well over a century later, the NGAW has the same mission. The organization's primary focus continues to be petitioning Congress for the resources needed to obtain better equipment, standardized training and, ultimately, a more combat ready force.

We Are Your Voice...

Without your membership, our voice is diminished at both the State and National level. We urgently need your help and support.

Please join the National Guard Associations and keep our Guard strong!

Donations:

The Minuteman Emergency Assistance Fund is funded totally by personal donations collected through the Combined Federal Campaign or by direct contributions. If you are looking for a worthwhile charity to donate to, please consider it. Donations are tax-deductible. To make a donation, contact the NGAW office; at 1-800-588-6420 or locally at (253) 584-5411.

The NGAW continues to administer the Minuteman Emergency Assistance Fund. Last year we received 58 applications for assistance. The Board of the Minuteman Fund approved 47 of these applications with a total of $21,718.54 being granted.

To be considered for financial assistance from the Minuteman Emergency Assistance Fund (MEAF):

1. The application form must be completely filled out to be considered for an emergency grant. Be sure to sign and date the application form.

2. In the explanation of your situation, be as specific as possible. The review committee will only have your application on which to base their decision, therefore take care in preparing it. After the information provided is verified, a committee composed of members of the Minuteman Emergency Assistance Fund Board of Directors will review your application and make a decision that is final. Neither the NGAW nor any of its Board Members are involved with the review process of your application.

3. Once your application is received by this office, the information will be verified as quickly as possible and forward it on to the review committee. Ideally, this process will take no more than a few working days, but may take a little longer depending on the availability of the review committee. Once a decision has been made, you will be notified of the decision. If you do not have a phone, you may periodically call us to inquire as to the status of your application at 1-800-588-6420 or locally at (253) 584-5411. If you have a phone, please do not make repeated phone calls checking on the status as you will be called as soon as we receive an answer.

4. Wherever possible or applicable, payments will be made directly to your creditors.

5. Keep in mind that this is a grant, and does not need to be re-paid. However, at some future date if you would like to make a donation to the fund so that other Guard members in need have funds available, it would be greatly appreciated. We will also be listed in the Combined Federal Campaign booklet for the upcoming campaign. Please consider designating the MEAF fund to receive a portion of your pledges.

If you have any further questions, please contact us at the numbers listed above.
